My "Eragon" Summary

My Summary of the Book "Eragon"

W
hen young Eragon finds a strange stone in the woods, he takes it home and discovers that it's not a stone at all. It's an egg. A dragon's egg. Nobody thought dragons existed anymore. If nobody thinks they exist anymore, why is he hiding the dragon egg? Will he become one of the legendary dragon riders that disappeared two hundred years ago? What would it mean for Aglaesia if he became a dragon rider? I liked this book, it kept me reading because there was no telling what was going to happen to Eragon next.

"Civil War on Sunday"

My Summary of "Civil War on Sunday"

Jack and Annie, the two main characters, are once again going back in time in the Magic Treehouse; this time to the Civil War.

Before going there, the enchantress Morgan sent them a strange message, warning that Camelot is in trouble. She also says that in order to save it, they need to find these kinds of writing: "something to follow, something to send, something to learn, and something to lend."

Will they find the writing in the Civil War era? How will things turn out? Read the book to find out for yourself.

"Surviving the Applewhites" Summary

My Summary of the Book:Surviving the Applewhites

When 13-year-old delinquent Jake Semple is kicked out of every school in his home state, he expects to go to Juvenile Hall, the school for bad kids. Instead he ends up with the wackiest homeschooling people ever; the Applewhites. Each member of the family is eccentric, scatterbrained, and most of all, every single one of them loves art, except one. E.D. is the odd one out, she loves things organized, her family is not.

It just so happens, she and Jake will be paired up for the first ever actual class in the Applewhite school. To top it off, the only thing they have in common is their age, and that they both want to get through the families' crazy ideas.

So what do think would happen if a play, directed by Randolph Applewhite, would end up starring Jake as one of the lead roles? Read the book and find out for yourself.

Next Book Choice:

Betsy Tacy

Best Friends Forever
There are lots of children on Hill Street, but no little girls Betsy's age. So when a new family moves into the house across the street, Betsy hopes they will have a little girl she can play with. Sure enough, they do--a little girl named Tacy. And from the moment they meet at Betsy's fifth birthday party, Betsy and Tacy become such good friends that everyone starts to think of them as one person--Betsy-Tacy.

Betsy and Tacy have lots of fun together. They make a playhouse from a piano box, have a sand store, and dress up and go calling. And one day, they come home to a wonderful surprise--a new friend named Tib.

Ever since their first publication in the 1940's, the Betsy-Tacy stories have been loved by each generation of young readers.

Review

"I read every one of these Betsy-Tacy-Tib books twice. I loved them as a child, as a young adult, and now, reading them with my daughter, as a mother. What a wonderful world it was!" -- Bette Midler, actor and singer

flush

I think that flush was actually boring and interesting at the same time. It was interesting because I could not stop reading it. It was boring because at some points, the author would just go on talking about something that already happened.

book for next time

At our meeting on Sunday, I chose Flush by Carl Hiaasen for our next book.

Also, we decided that Rhianna will pick next, and then Lydia. After that we'll rotate back through Sophia, Hannah, Charlotte, Rhianna, and Lydia again.

My favorite part about the book, was that there were some moments in the book, that were like little intermissions. Example:[Ok, Carter, give me the mic]
